Renaud Tixier Monday Skeleton: The micro-rotor reveals its inner workings
Renaud Tixier reveals the inner workings of the Monday. The new Monday Skeleton combines the skeletonized automatic caliber RVI2025 with the unique micro-rotor winding mechanism featured in the first Monday, introduced in 2024. Two versions, in blue and green, are each produced in a limited run of 15 pieces; the 40.8-millimeter case is crafted from 18-karat white gold.

A tiny dancer at the center of the rotor
The technical foundation of the Monday lies in the automatic winding mechanism. A micro-rotor takes up little space and leaves much of the movement visible; however, its low mass limits its usable inertia. Dominique Renaud and Julien Tixier therefore supplemented it with an additional system: At the center of the platinum rotor sits a flywheel coupled to a mainspring.
This “Dancer” is designed to harness precisely those movements that disrupt the smooth rotation of a conventional rotor—such as abrupt changes in direction at the wrist. The spring stores kinetic energy and releases it again. A decoupling mechanism protects the mechanism from shocks. The skeletonized version incorporates this principle, revealing the inner workings all around.

262 components, 238 internal angles
The RVI2025 builds on the design of the original RVI2023. It consists of 262 components, has 29 jewels, and operates at 2.5 hertz. The power reserve is at least 72 hours. With a diameter of 36.8 millimeters and a height of 6.83 millimeters, the movement fills a large portion of the case.
The skeletonization emphasizes the hand-finished edges and transitions. Renaud Tixier lists 238 internal angles, as well as black polishing, rounded bridges, bevels, Côtes de Genève, sunburst finishing, and perlage. On the back, a decorative element above the escape wheel features hand engraving, chasing, and Grand Feu enamel in a color matching the respective edition.

Color-Coded Navigation in an Open Layout
Hours and minutes are indicated by skeletonized Dauphine hands. A satin-finished small seconds sub-dial and the colored flange help the eye navigate among the exposed movement components. Faceted hour markers and white minute graduations line the edge. Blue or green accents continue onto the hand-stitched alligator leather strap, which fastens with a white gold pin buckle.
The white gold case measures 40.8 millimeters in diameter and 12.6 millimeters in height. The sides and areas between the lugs are hand-engraved. The watch is water-resistant to three bar. The price of the Monday Skeleton listed in the press materials is 129,000 Swiss francs, excluding taxes.
