Professional diving with the hybrid "WRX" models from Ralf Tech

The diving watch brand sees itself as an alternative to corporate brands and promises an attractive price-performance ratio as well as genuine field watches for professional and recreational divers.

This self-image is no coincidence. CEO Frank Huyghe, himself a professional diver, originally developed and sold diving equipment, primarily to diving service companies, police, and the military.

Repeated requests from diving professionals for durable, serviceable, and "real" diving watches led Huyghe to build a first model in Switzerland in 2003, tailored to the requirements of professional clients, and it quickly became an insider tip.

The increasing success of the diver's watches led Frank Huyghe to decide to sell his diving equipment company in 2008 and to concentrate exclusively on expanding the Ralf Tech watch collection – made for true professionals and those who would like to be.

The latest result is the new "WRX Stardust" and "WRX Rockdust," each limited to 100 units. The inspiration for these models came not only from the depths of the ocean, but also from the vastness of space.

Both models were developed in collaboration with the Centre National d'Études Spatiales (CNES) and build on the experience gained with the "WRX Space Millenium," unveiled in 2024. They also incorporate the proven shape and size of the "WRX Electric," but feature a sandblasted case made of 316L surgical steel. It measures an impressive 47.5 millimeters in diameter and is water-resistant to 100 bar.

The design is complemented by a micro-grained dial—jet black for the "Stardust" and chocolate brown for the "Rockdust." The texture of the dials is reminiscent of the surface of meteorites, lunar rock, or Martian soil.

They are protected by 5.9-millimeter-thick, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The dial is surrounded by a unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel with 120 clicks.

At the heart of the "WRX Stardust" and "WRX Rockdust," which offer temperature resistance from -50°C to +55°C, is the Swiss-developed RTE001 micro-hybrid movement. It combines the precision of a quartz movement with the robustness of mechanical components, achieving an impressive operating time of up to 100,000 hours (almost 12 years).
