Top proceeds at 21st Geneva watch auction - Rolex only achieves 6th place

The auction house Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo reports a remarkable result at the 21st Geneva Watch Auction last weekend.

1,820 registered bidders from 71 countries, including 1,580 online bidders, ensured that 188 of the 192 watches on offer, valued at €46.4 million, changed hands. The top ten lots alone reached a total value of approximately €20 million.

Alexandre Ghotbi (Vice Chairman and Head of Watch Business for Europe and the Middle East) and Tiffany To (Senior International Watch Specialist and Head of Sales) jointly stated:

"The strength of the market was clearly evident this weekend: passionate bidding and exceptional results for timepieces spanning over 150 years of watchmaking—from wristwatches and pocket watches to large clocks from Switzerland, Germany, England, and France. These results confirm the continued appeal of fine watchmaking."
