Blancpain completes the "Fifty Fathoms Automatique" line

Following the two new 38-millimeter models, water-resistant to 30 bar, with mother-of-pearl dials and 38-millimeter cases made of pink gold and titanium – equipped with the caliber 1153 – Blancpain has added further members to the “Fifty Fathoms Automatique” family in the compatible 38-mm format.

The extended family now includes case sizes of 38, 42 and 45 millimeters.

Marc A. Hayek, President and CEO of Blancpain, explains the expansion of the line to include the smaller size:

"The Fifty Fathoms is far more than a diver's watch—it's a symbol of exploration and innovation. By expanding the collection, we're responding to a clear demand while reaffirming that this watch was designed for all wrists from the very beginning. It's a natural and important evolution for a watch born underwater and designed to be worn everywhere."

The new family members protect their inner workings with a casing made of stainless steel, grade 23 titanium, or rose gold. This is the in-house caliber 1150, which also offers a 100-hour power reserve and features a silicon balance spring for resistance to magnetism and temperature fluctuations.

It can be seen through the sapphire crystal caseback of the 30-bar water-resistant case. This also reveals the refinement of the movement and the rotor made of 18-carat gold with NAC coating. The latter is inspired by the original design of the "Fifty Fathoms" from 1953.

About the “Fifty Fathoms”

Developed in 1953 under the leadership of then-CEO Jean-Jacques Fiechter—a passionate diver and pioneer of underwater exploration—the Fifty Fathoms was the world's first true diver's watch. With it, the manufacturer introduced innovative features such as a lockable rotating bezel, increased water resistance, a high-contrast dial with luminous markers, an automatic movement, and anti-magnetic protection.
