Mido aka "King of Waterproof Watches" presents new "Ocean Star Worldtimer"
The black and red checkerboard dial of the new “Ocean Star Worldtimer” is inspired by a Mido model from the 1970s – and also bears the brand’s logo from that era.
These references to the past are combined with today's technological advancements. And, of course, with the collection's signature water resistance.

The "Ocean Star" has embodied the brand's expertise in water resistance since 1944. With the Aquadura system, Mido took a pioneering role in 1930 and was also called the "King of Waterproof Watches" in the 1980s.

The new "Ocean Star Worldtimer" lives up to its predecessors with water resistance up to 20 bar. Its silver-colored dial is decorated with a black and red checkerboard pattern marking the time intervals, as well as the Mido logo of the time. The "Glass Box" sapphire crystal provides protection. All of these pieces pay homage to the vintage aesthetic of the 1970s. Modern materials in the form of Superluminova ensure comfortable readability in low-light conditions.

The 40.5-millimeter case, made of polished and satin-finished stainless steel with a unidirectional rotating world-time bezel featuring the city names, is fitted with a screw-down caseback bearing the collection's signature starfish. It protects the automatic Caliber 80 with an 80-hour power reserve.
The two-piece black Bund leather strap – a legacy of pilots of the last century – allows for various wearing styles: as a simple black leather strap with red stitching or for a more sporty look in combination with the base with white stitching.
