Alpina at the Geneva Watch Days 2026: Route du Rhum and the new Startimer Solarmetre

Alpina is using the Geneva Watch Days 2026 to unveil two new collections that interpret the brand’s outdoor character in different ways. Two limited-edition Route du Rhum models combine maritime design with automatic and solar technology. In addition, the Startimer Pilot Solarmetre is available in a new, more compact 38-millimeter size.

Two Watches for the Route du Rhum

As the official timekeeper of the 13th Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe, Alpina is supporting the transatlantic regatta with the Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic and the Alpiner Extreme Solarmetre. Both draw inspiration from the turquoise hues of the Atlantic and the Caribbean, though they take different technical approaches.

Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic

The Seastrong is produced in a limited edition of 313 pieces—a nod to the 13th edition of the race. The stainless steel case measures 39 × 40.5 millimeters and is water-resistant to 300 meters. Its turquoise dial features engraved Atlantic ocean currents; a compass scale, a red-highlighted “13” in the date window, and the race route on the caseback further elaborate on the theme. A bezel with a carbon insert and a textured rubber strap complete the automatic model. The price is 2,195 euros.

Alpiner Extreme Solarmetre

The second Route du Rhum watch is limited to 513 pieces and costs 1,095 euros. Its 37.5-millimeter stainless steel case is water-resistant to 100 meters. The solar system, developed in collaboration with La Joux-Perret, charges via the translucent dial. When fully charged, the watch can continue running for up to ten months in complete darkness; after ten seconds of light, it restarts, and one minute of light provides enough energy for about one day.

Startimer Pilot Solarmetre in 38 millimeters

Alpina is also expanding its solar technology in its pilot’s watch line. The Startimer Pilot Solarmetre has been scaled down to 38 millimeters, making it more wearable without sacrificing the collection’s clear hour markers and instrument-style design. The solar caliber also offers up to ten months of power reserve in the dark and reactivates after brief exposure to light.

Automatic at Sea, Solar in the Air

Alpina thus showcases two sides of its sports watch universe. The limited-edition Regatta models place a strong emphasis on history and occasion, while the more compact Startimer brings solar technology more broadly into the collection. What they have in common is their commitment to combining long running times, robust cases, and clear readability in a way that’s suitable for everyday use.
