Tamara Comolli Color Story “Aurora”: Northern Lights in Gemstones
With the “Aurora” color story, Tamara Comolli translates the play of colors in the Northern Lights into a jewelry line featuring rose gold and intensely luminous gemstones. The collection combines the brand’s signature shapes with a color palette that deliberately alternates between cool shades of blue and green and warm shades of violet.
The Northern Lights as a Color Scheme
The collection takes its inspiration from the aurora borealis. Creative Director Kate De’Ath draws inspiration from its iridescent color transitions and combines amethyst, London topaz, peridot, green tourmaline, and iolite with 18-karat rose gold. The focus is less on a single stone and more on the interplay of colors.

Iolite plays a special role, making its first return from the brand’s archives to a current color story. This blue-violet stone is sometimes referred to as “water sapphire.” It also has historical ties to seafaring: According to tradition, Vikings used thin slices of iolite to estimate the sun’s position even when the sky was overcast.

Familiar Lines, Recombined
The color palette runs through several of the brand’s lines. The Mikado Flamenco bracelet features movable gemstones and the playful look that is characteristic of the line. The collection is complemented by a Mikado charm bracelet and necklaces in three lengths.

The Tulip rings form a trio of tanzanite, green tourmaline, and violet tourmaline. Pavé-set diamonds add additional points of light without overshadowing the colored gemstones. Finally, the Bouton earrings translate this color palette into a more compact design.

Color Instead of Traditional Seasonal Logic
The collection showcases how Tamara Comolli combines existing design codes into a new narrative through a precisely curated palette of gemstones. Rose gold visually ties the different shades together, while still allowing the individual stones to remain clearly distinguishable from one another.
