Watch News Briefing: Fears, Bruno Söhnle, Sternglas, and Ralph Lauren
Black onyx at Fears, ice-blue chronographs by Bruno Söhnle, an anniversary watch by Sternglas, and engraved sterling silver at Ralph Lauren:
Fears Arnos Opera Black: Onyx for the Evening
The Arnos Opera Black reinterprets the rectangular Arnos design in a style inspired by the black-tie dress code. A polished black onyx dial features a white lacquered circle and Roman numerals; black-and-gold pipette hands reinforce the monochromatic look. The 33.5 × 22.6-millimeter automatic model comes with an Epsom leather strap and a grosgrain silk ribbon and is water-resistant to three bar.

Bruno Söhnle Marcato III: Ice Blue with Large Date
Bruno Söhnle is expanding the Marcato III collection with ice-blue dial variations featuring light or dark sub-dials. The finely textured surface and the large date window at 12 o’clock give the 44-millimeter quartz chronograph a distinctive look. Black or brown leather straps shift its character between sporty and classic.

Bruno Söhnle: Marcato III
Inside, a Ronda 8040.B movement in a refined Bruno Söhnle version powers the watch. The quartz movement is decorated in Glashütte; this finishing process can be seen through the glass caseback. The Marcato III thus combines the straightforward operation of a quartz chronograph with the brand’s signature visible movement finishing.

Sternglas Zirkel X: Anniversary Celebration with Customer Participation
To mark its tenth anniversary, Sternglas is introducing the Zirkel X. More than 5,000 customers participated in the development of this anniversary model. Its domed, vertically brushed silver-colored dial emphasizes symmetry: The date and 24-hour display are positioned opposite each other along a horizontal axis. Hand-style hands with Nemoto luminescent material and the refined “Neue DIN” typeface carry forward the brand’s minimalist design.
The polished stainless steel case measures 38 millimeters in diameter and 8 millimeters in height. It is topped by a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides; inside, the Miyota 6P23 quartz movement keeps time. A dark brown bridle leather strap with a waxed finish and calfskin lining complements the watch. The first 1,000 pieces feature an anniversary engraving on the case back. The price is 299 euros.

Ralph Lauren Western Cushion 38 mm: Sterling silver and Piaget caliber
Ralph Lauren has adapted his Western collection into a more compact format. The Western Cushion’s 38-millimeter cushion-shaped case is crafted from sterling silver and is hand-engraved. The slightly aged finish accentuates the engravings and ornamentation. Options include black lacquer with cream-colored numerals, cream-white lacquer with black Roman and Arabic numerals, and natural turquoise. In the stone version, the grain and color gradation make each dial unique.

From a watchmaking perspective, the automatic in-house caliber RL514 forms the heart of the collection. Piaget manufactures it exclusively for Ralph Lauren. Geneva stripes and perlage complement the hand-finished exterior with traditional movement decorations: striped surfaces and overlapping circular patterns. The automatic movement harnesses the motion of the wrist to power the watch. Interchangeable leather straps are available for the three dial variations.
