Audemars Piguet inaugurates its new manufacturing facility in Meyrin

Groundbreaking took place in 2023. Now, Audemars Piguet’s new manufacturing facility in Meyrin, near Geneva, has been officially inaugurated. Three years ago, the company announced its intention to increase production to 60,000 units in the long term.

The industry report on the Swiss watch market by Morgan Stanley and LuxeConsult, which is based on estimates, projects that Audemars Piguet will produce 53,000 watches as early as 2025.

After three years of construction, this new manufacturing facility has expanded the production space at Audemars Piguet’s existing site in Meyrin to nearly four times its previous size and can accommodate around 350 employees. A new manufacturing facility had recently been opened in Le Brassus, the brand’s headquarters.

The inauguration took place on March 19, 2026, in Meyrin, attended by local and cantonal officials, representatives from FdMP architectes, and members of the board and management of Audemars Piguet.

The project involved the restoration of the former industrial building of the pharmaceutical company Uhlmann-Eyraud, which was constructed between 1963 and 1965. The U-shaped building, recognized as historically significant, was acquired by Audemars Piguet in 2023 and underwent extensive renovation to accommodate the manufacture’s operations.

The focus was on optimizing the existing space, supplemented by the construction of a new four-story building that completes the U-shape, as well as the addition of two side extensions on the raised ground floor.

The two construction phases, designed by the Swiss architectural firm FdMP architectes, now cover a total area of 9,000 square meters. This makes the new manufacturing facility 3.75 times larger than the previous site, which covered 2,400 square meters.
