Watches & Wonders 2026: Pump it up! Streamliner Pump by H. Moser & Cie.
In the late 1980s, Reebok launched the Pump sneaker, which quickly became an icon for an entire generation. The reason for its success? It proved that performance and fun can go hand in hand.
A simple press was all it took to interact with the shoe, customize it, personalize it, and feel it come to life. H. Moser & Cie. shares Reebok’s philosophy of not always taking itself too seriously, even in the face of peak performance. Together, they are now bringing the “Pump” gesture to watchmaking and, with the “Streamliner Pump,” putting playfulness front and center.

Pump It Up – A Fresh Take on the Concept
While Reebok is preparing for the return of the “Pump” in 2026, H. Moser & Cie. has created a surprising connection between watchmaking and the world of sneakers: the orange button has been repurposed to wind a mechanical movement.

Instead of the traditional crown, a push-button made of anodized aluminum transfers energy to the mainspring with each press, simultaneously activating the power reserve indicator. Beneath the surface, a mechanical choreography unfolds, made visible by openwork bridges and a fully skeletonized rack.
A simple press is all it takes to build up a power reserve of more than an hour. And even when the mainspring is fully wound, it’s not over yet: you can keep pressing the button—just for fun.
Movement with pump winding
To develop this movement, H. Moser & Cie. completely redesigned the HMC 500 automatic caliber with small seconds and transformed it into a hand-wound movement. The sapphire crystal case back offers a view of the result: an optimized, lightweight movement specifically designed for the Pump system, while retaining the brand’s minimalist DNA.

The movement offers a power reserve of 74 hours. But don’t worry: you don’t have to wind it 74 times to build up this power reserve. You can also wind it manually using the crown.
High-tech material with a unique look
The “Streamliner Pump” is also surprising in terms of its materials; it is available in two versions—black and white—each limited to 250 pieces. The 40-millimeter case is made of a material rarely used in watchmaking: forged quartz fiber.

Quartz fiber is purer and lighter than glass fiber, UV-resistant, and can be dyed. This gives designers a degree of freedom that carbon fiber, for example, does not allow. The material is cut into segments, placed in a mold, and pressed.
It is then combined with injected resin and undergoes two consecutive curing cycles. The result is a matte casing with a unique moiré pattern—no two are alike.

Lightweight construction and well-thought-out design
Inside, a titanium “sarcophagus” serves as a protective exoskeleton: it shields the movement, ensures water resistance up to 10 bar, and secures the integrated rubber strap.
Thanks to the quartz fiber and titanium components—including the case and case back, which features a DLC coating on the darker version—the “Streamliner Pump” is pleasantly lightweight.

The lacquered dial, available in black or white depending on the model, features a polished finish. The hands are accented by anthracite-gray or white Globolight inserts and glow green in low light. The power reserve is displayed on an orange disc. (MSRP €31,360)
Comments on the partnership
Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie., explains: “We take the art of watchmaking very seriously, but at the same time we cultivate our image as the ‘cool kid’ of haute horlogerie. The ‘Streamliner Pump’ encapsulates this philosophy: with a sophistication that brings a smile to your face, a meticulous precision that still leaves room for a touch of playfulness, and a mechanism that invites you to touch, feel, and operate it. At a time when the art of watchmaking is achieving ever greater technical feats, this timepiece reminds us that innovation can also mean bringing back a sense of playfulness, surprise, and a breath of fresh air.”

Matt Salter, Executive Vice President of Partnership Marketing at Authentic Brands Group, owner of the Reebok brand, adds: “Collaborations have always been an important part of Reebok’s cultural presence. The Pump was one of the most innovative shoes of its time and remains relevant even after more than 35 years—clear proof of its cult status. H. Moser & Cie. is known for exceptional craftsmanship and bold design, making it the perfect partner for a project like this. Dressing begins with choosing your shoes and ends with putting on your watch. Our collaboration offered the opportunity to reinterpret the Pump from this perspective.”
From sneakers to watches—and back again
H. Moser & Cie. and Reebok have also collaborated to design an exclusive Pump sneaker, which is reserved for owners of the “Streamliner Pump” and close friends of the brand.
