TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Sport: Five New 42-Millimeter Models

TAG Heuer is bringing the Carrera Chronograph Sport back to the forefront of the collection. The new generation comprises five models featuring a 42-millimeter case, a ceramic bezel, and the automatic in-house caliber TH20-00. It was unveiled on September 7, 2026, during the Formula 1 race in Madrid.

The design builds on the Carrera Chronograph Sport introduced in 2020 but features revised proportions, finishes, and details. The collection aims to combine the distinctive motorsport character of the previous 44-millimeter models with a more compact, everyday-friendly design.

Five versions, one shared architecture

All five models feature a finely satin-finished and polished stainless steel case. The diameter is 42 millimeters, and the height is 14.2 millimeters. A fixed ceramic bezel features the tachymeter scale. Sapphire crystal protects the dial; the movement remains visible through the sapphire caseback.

The blue version is available in two versions: as reference CDB2111.BA0054 on the newly designed H-shaped stainless steel bracelet, and as CDB2111.FC8378 on a brown, perforated leather strap. The sunburst dial is divided by three silver-colored, azure-finished sub-dials.

The CDB2112.BA0054 model combines a petrol-green dial with a color-coordinated ceramic bezel. Silver-colored hour markers and gray accents keep the contrast relatively subtle. Green lacquer on the pushers echoes the dial’s color.

The CDB2113.BA0054 features a classic Panda configuration: black counters stand out against a silver-colored dial. A black ceramic bezel and black accents on the pushers reinforce the watch’s historic chronograph heritage.

The black CDB2110.BA0054 has the sportiest look. Its opaline dial features red chronograph hands and red markers, while the black ceramic bezel complements the monochromatic design.

TH20-00 caliber with an 80-hour power reserve

All models are powered by the automatic in-house Caliber TH20-00. It is an advanced version of the Heuer 02 and features a column wheel and a vertical clutch. The bidirectional rotor improves the efficiency of the automatic winding mechanism.

The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers an 80-hour power reserve. The chronograph measures quarter-seconds, 30 minutes, and up to twelve hours. It also features hours, minutes, a small seconds hand, and a date window. The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters.

New Position Within the Carrera Line

The Carrera collection now includes two distinctly different chronograph lines. The 39-millimeter “Glassbox” models are more closely inspired by historical designs and do not feature an external ceramic bezel. The Carrera Chronograph Sport, on the other hand, features a more technical design, bolder proportions, and a tachymeter scale.

Measuring 42 millimeters instead of 44, the new generation strikes a balance between the classic chronograph and the modern sports watch. The redesigned H-strap also features an integrated fine-adjustment mechanism that can be operated without tools.

This new model follows directly on the heels of the TAG Heuer Monza Flyback Chronograph, released to mark the 50th anniversary. While the Monza is a one-off collector’s model, the Carrera Chronograph Sport forms a new, permanent pillar of the collection.
