Czapek presents the „Time Jumper“ and leaps into the next decade with the automatic caliber 10.
To mark the tenth anniversary of the Czapek manufacture's relaunch, the "Time Jumper" model is being released. Equipped with the new, in-house Caliber 10 and a futuristic design, it is ready for the leap into the next decade.
A traditional guilloché pattern adorns the 40.5-millimeter case, while a so-called half-hunter lid cleverly conceals—and reveals—the time display and the skeletonized movement. The Czapek "Time Jumper" is a limited edition of 100 pieces in stainless steel and 30 in 18-karat rose gold.

In a playful, avant-garde style, the watch reinterprets the pocket watches of François Czapek from the 19th century. At its center is a jumping hour display via two discs – a world first with patented mechanics – complemented by a rotating minute display on an outer scale.

On the Half Hunter's lid, a new, three-dimensional guilloché pattern creates the optical illusion of a black hole. A central magnifying lens reveals the center of the complication. When the lid is opened, the entire movement is visible beneath a sapphire crystal.

Czapek himself describes this construction as a combination of an upper, retro-futuristic „flying saucer“ and a lower, classically round case reminiscent of historical pocket watches.
„With the ‚Time Jumper‘ we wanted to rethink the representation of time and bring a breath of fresh air to haute horlogerie,“ explains Czapek CEO Xavier de Roquemaurel.
„Jumping hours already exist, but most of these models are very similar. We wanted to interpret the complication in a completely unique way.“

With the case back closed, the focus is entirely on the hour display beneath the central magnifying lens. Opening the case back reveals the entire mechanism. However, straight lines and flat surfaces are hardly to be found: The case, crafted by AB Concept, is as soft as a pebble and aerodynamically shaped – right down to the oval button for the opening mechanism, the rounded lugs, and the ergonomic crown.

The guilloché pattern on the lid, exclusively manufactured by Czapek's partner Metalem, is a further development of the "Singularité" decor from the "Antarctique Tourbillon" collection.
Even the presentation box continues the theme: a round „flying saucer“ made of sandblasted aluminum with fine polished accents.
Caliber 10 and the next ten years by Czapek
To mark its tenth anniversary, the manufacture deliberately opted against a new, highly complex caliber. Instead, the Caliber 10 focuses on hours and minutes, albeit with an unconventional display. 75 percent of the components were manufactured in-house.

While the previous nine movements offered a modern interpretation of classic complications, Calibre 10 marks a new beginning. It serves as the basis for a series of future in-house calibres with fully integrated complications – in contrast to the usual modular design.

The new automatic caliber 10 features a compact and flexible architecture, allowing it to be installed in smaller cases (from 36 mm).
At the heart of the first generation of the new caliber, the 10.1, is a centrally mounted rotor made of recycled 950 platinum, engraved and skeletonized to allow a clear view of the movement.
The design is fluid and harmonious, featuring the five spokes typical of Czapek and diamond-cut edges.
In addition, there are rhodium-plated bridges and deep black circuit boards.
Caliber 10.1 combines a jumping hour display on a 24-hour dial with rotating minutes on an outer ring. Two sapphire discs indicate the hours: one for the units digit, one for the tens digit.

Limitation and availability of the Caliber 10.1
Czapek is producing a total of 180 Calibre 10.1 movements to celebrate the 180th anniversary of the company's founding (1845 in Geneva). The first series comprises 100 pieces in stainless steel and 30 in 18-karat gold. The remaining movements are reserved for special projects, including ten completely bespoke, one-of-a-kind pieces, which are available to order now.
