Watch News Briefing: U-Boat, Venezianico, and Singer Reimagined

Three different takes on the sports watch: U-Boat crafts the Chimera as a striking 46-millimeter chronograph, Venezianico blends Venice and New York on an intricately designed dial, and Singer Reimagined makes the second time zone the central control element.

U-Boat Chimera 46 mm Chrono SS: Three Colors, Familiar Design

The Chimera 46 mm Chrono SS is available in green, blue, and black. All three versions feature U-Boat’s signature left-side crown system with a screw-down protective cap. They also include the Crown Release System: a lever at approximately 8:30 makes it easier to pull out the crown.

At 46 millimeters, the Chimera is deliberately large. Color, therefore, does not play a merely decorative role, but rather alters the overall impression of the watch. Green is the most expressive, blue is somewhat more classic, while black emphasizes the technical aspect of the chronograph.

Venezianico × Worn & Wound: Redentore Two Harbors

Limited to 800 individually numbered pieces, the Redentore Two Harbors connects the home of Venezianico with New York, the home of Worn & Wound. This connection is not created through printed city names, but through a multi-layered design.

A four-color print is applied to a brass base; reliefs of the Statue of Liberty and the skyline complement the design. An aged, burnished silver-plated finish and a brushed mother-of-pearl sub-dial create contrasting surfaces. The 40-millimeter stainless steel case is 11.5 millimeters thick and measures 46.7 millimeters from lug to lug.

Inside, the watch is powered by the NH05A automatic movement. It is water-resistant to 5 bar and comes with an Italian leather strap. The model will be unveiled at the Windup Watch Fair in New York from October 16 to 18; sales are scheduled to begin on October 26. The price is 850 euros or 975 U.S. dollars.

Singer Reimagined 1970 DualTrack: Second time zone via push button

With the 1970 DualTrack, Singer Reimagined highlights the second time zone. A rotating 24-hour scale is adjusted via a pusher; the second time zone is displayed at the 6 o’clock position. This keeps the display relatively clear despite the additional function.

The Caliber 4 DT Slim features four barrels and, according to the manufacturer, provides at least six days of power reserve. The faceted case and integrated steel bracelet draw on the design language of the 1970s without coming across as a mere retro replica.

The dial colors available are Khaki, Cobalt Blue, and Dark Espresso Brown. The color palette underscores the watch’s positioning: technically sophisticated, yet less formal than a classic travel watch.
