Watch News: Haute Horlogerie—The Kerbedanz MAXSPOR GR8 Gets More Compact
Kerbedanz has reduced the size of its MAXSPOR GR8 monopusher chronograph from 46 to 41 millimeters. The new generation retains the regulating mechanism, which is visible on the dial side, but further refines the design and engineering. Three versions are available in titanium, black DLC-coated titanium, and a combination of rose gold and DLC-coated titanium.
The balance wheel becomes part of the dial
In classic chronographs, the dial layout is often defined by a trio of sub-dials. Kerbedanz uses only two sub-dials for seconds and minutes. The space left over is occupied by the balance wheel and hairspring, which are mounted upside down on the front of the watch.
A star-shaped bridge with three arms supports the regulating mechanism. Chamfered edges, sandblasted surfaces, and contrasting finishes make this load-bearing component the focal point of the design.
New KRB14-2 Automatic Caliber
The automatic monopusher caliber KRB14-2 consists of 343 components and 33 jewels. It operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and has a power reserve of 48 hours. The chronograph is started, stopped, and reset to zero using a single pusher.
According to the manufacturer, a dual-seal system allows the crown to be operated underwater within the specified water resistance rating of 50 meters. Depending on the version, the 41 × 50-millimeter case is made entirely or partially of Grade 5 titanium.

A tool-free attachment system connects the case to the rubber strap. The five-millimeter reduction is thus more than just a size adjustment: it makes the distinctly technical design more wearable without sacrificing its visible mechanical focus.
