Certina and the Powerbars from 1995
Certina and the Powerbars from 1995
With the return of the "DS Cascadeur," Certina celebrates its 30th anniversary. When it was first introduced in 1995, the Swatch Group brand had in mind those seeking thrills and challenges—accompanied by a reliable companion on their wrist.
Now it's back. Reinterpreted, but still tough in appearance and more durable than ever. For the 195th anniversary models, we've placed the original on the distinctive vertical protective bars – Certina calls them Powerbars – which leave no doubt about their robustness.

Certina's famous Double Security concept—recognizable by the DS in its name—is a must. The brand introduced the DS concept in 1959 to make its timepieces particularly robust.
It includes scratch-resistant, reinforced sapphire crystal, an O-ring seal on the stem, and two additional O-ring seals in the crown. Added to this is a reinforced caseback and a specific seal within it, allowing watches equipped with this technology to be water-resistant to at least 10 bar.

In the new "DS Cascadeur," the anti-reflective sapphire crystal combined with Superluminova coating on the hands and dial ensures comfortable legibility of the watch's precise information at all times. This movement is powered by Certina's Precidrive quartz movement, which guarantees a precision of +/- 10 seconds per year. It is protected by the 42.5-millimeter stainless steel case, which is resistant to pressures of up to 20 bar.

The "DS Cascadeur" is worn on a rubber strap with a quick-change system. (RRP €515)
