BA111OD and a new chapter 8: Past, present, and future in two watches

BA111OD at Inhorgenta 2026: Hall A1, Booth 216

A modern sales concept and visualization of the brand name—Baillod = BA111OD—go hand in hand with deep roots in the art of watchmaking and the Neuchâtel region. Since 2019, founder Thomas Baillod has been making a name for himself with his Swiss-made watches and phygital sales concept.

“It’s about the evolution of traditional and online retail, i.e., physical and digital retail. I also call it ‘we-commerce’ because it’s about the community. The advantage of this is that you not only delegate distribution, but also marketing. That’s not possible with pure e-commerce. This means that I have completely reinterpreted the three things that are essential for sales – PoS, service, and warehousing,” explains Thomas Baillod, founder of BA111Od.

The lecturer in watch marketing and founder of the Watch Trade Academy will explain what this is all about and how jewelers can become part of his community at his Inhorgenta booth in the Watch Boutique in Watch Hall A1.

Here you can also discover the brand’s latest innovation, the “Baillod Family Legacy Special Editions”: two timepieces that pay special tribute to the Baillod family’s centuries-old watchmaking roots in the canton of Neuchâtel.

Inspired by a family pocket watch from the late 19th century, Thomas Baillod aims to translate more than 250 years of watchmaking history into a contemporary language with this special edition – as a dialogue between memory and creation. Respecting history without allowing it to restrict you. This is how Baillod formulates his philosophy.

BA111OD/Baillod – a name steeped in history

The name Baillod has been part of Neuchâtel’s history for centuries. The earliest known mention of it can be found in 1341 in a church window in Môtiers – one of the oldest documented family presences in the canton. In 1775, the name appeared for the first time in the registers of the watchmaking trade, laying the foundation for a mechanical culture that has continued to develop for more than 250 years.

In 2019, Thomas Baillod founded BA111OD, projecting this watchmaking heritage into the future. But not in order to preserve it, as Thomas Baillod emphasizes.

Instead, he sees his brand as an independent, sophisticated, and accessible vision of Swiss-made watchmaking with a direct, unfiltered relationship with the community.

“Two and a half centuries of history do not represent an end, but rather a beginning. This heritage accompanies us on our journey without dictating it – it gives us the drive to continue shaping the future freely, with precision and independence, respecting tradition without ever standing still,” explains Thomas Baillod.

Chapter 8 – Baillod Family Legacy Special Editions

In 2025, BA111OD added a late 19th-century pocket watch—signed Charles Baillod, Locle—to its Heritage collection. Based on this, Creative Director Liliane Murenzi developed two special editions and translated the defining features of the pocket watch into a contemporary wristwatch.

The guilloché dial recalls the engraved decoration of the historical source of inspiration and is complemented by Roman numerals and a classic railway minute track. The small seconds at 7 o’clock and the profiled crown also refer to the ergonomics of the historical pocket watch. The case back features an elaborate engraving that pays special homage to the Baillod name.

Both models feature a 41-millimeter case with satin-finished and polished surfaces, a concave bezel, rounded lugs, and a transparent sapphire crystal case back. The latter reveals the Soprod automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve.

There are two versions to choose from: stainless steel with blued hands and stainless steel with gold PVD coating and black hands. Both versions come with a black leather strap in alligator look.
