Bron Jewelry: Christmas in Lavender Blue

For the upcoming holiday season, Bron Jewelry is featuring an unusually subdued shade of blue. The limited-edition “Christmas in Lavender Blue” collection includes twelve pieces of rose gold jewelry set with blue chalcedony, whose color shifts between a powdery blue and a soft violet.

Blue chalcedony, ranging from powder blue to violet

Blue chalcedony makes an impression not so much through strong contrasts as through its soft, almost cloudy sheen. Depending on how the light hits it, the spectrum ranges from a light powder blue to a lavender shade with a hint of violet. Bron thus chooses a color that deliberately differs from bold sapphire blue or turquoise.

For Ellen van Beuzekom, chief gemologist at the Dutch brand, it was precisely this rare intermediate shade that served as the starting point for the collection. She associates the color with tranquility and serenity—and at the same time uses the lavender hue as an alternative to the classic reds, greens, and golds of the Christmas season.

Twelve limited-edition pieces of jewelry in rose gold

The collection consists of twelve designs, including rings, earrings, a pendant, and a bracelet. The chalcedony stones are set in warm rose gold; some pieces complement the colored gemstone with diamonds or additional blue-violet accents. What all the designs have in common is their focus on round and oval cabochons, which emphasize the material’s inner luster more effectively than a faceted cut.

The raw material comes from Namibia and, according to the brand, is available only in very limited quantities. Consequently, the twelve models are released exclusively as limited editions.

Color as a Recurring Element

The collection aligns with Bron’s approach of telling stories through jewelry using finely tuned color palettes. According to the company, which was founded by Heleen Bron in 2000, more than 90 percent of its jewelry is crafted in Schoonhoven, the Netherlands. There, the collections are primarily made from 18-karat gold and naturally formed colored gemstones.
