World Watch Day 2026: Today, the world celebrates watchmaking

Today, October 10, the watchmaking industry is in the spotlight around the world. More than 55 events and initiatives are taking place to mark the second World Watch Day. Watch enthusiasts are also invited to participate in this international event.

Under the theme “Time as Living Heritage,” World Watch Day 2026 is dedicated to watchmaking as a living cultural heritage. Museums, watch manufacturers, watchmaking schools, collectors, and watch enthusiasts are participating with exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and digital events.

Following last year’s premiere, which, according to the organizers, reached more than six million people, the second edition is expected to bring the international watch community even closer together.

Join the celebration at 10:10 a.m.

A special moment is scheduled for 10:10 a.m. today:

Watch enthusiasts, brands, jewelers, and institutions around the world are invited to share a photo of their watch on social media using the hashtag #WorldWatchDay.

The time is no coincidence. For decades, the 10:10 position has been considered the classic presentation position for watches, and it inspired the date for the annual awareness day held on October 10.

With more than 55 events and initiatives around the globe, World Watch Day showcases the diversity of the world of watchmaking—from traditional craftsmanship to scientific advancements and contemporary watch design.
